Artist Statement

Observations of identity and the question of how we, as humans, create it; has spurred the work that I make. The iterations of this work have changed over time, but continue to investigate the methods in which we perceive, interact and cultivate the society around us. Most recently looking at the mental and physical characteristics that we experience and how they help provide a glimpse into our personal identity and self-objectivity. Ultimately, the intention is to inform the viewer through illustration and object, revealing how individual traits cultivate our identity but do not define our attitudes about it. The work aims to maintain a playful nature and encourage the act of positivism even when faced with uncontrolled diversity.
